Your Diwali Intention

Your Diwali Intention
A 5-minute ritual to choose what you want to invite into your life.
You don’t need anything special for this. Just 5 quiet minutes, a diya, and a piece of paper.
Prefer to keep it on paper? Write your ritual here, then print it or save it as a PDF at the end.
BeginStep 1
Clear
Light your diya. Take three slow breaths.
What am I ready to leave behind?
Write one thing. Don’t overthink it.
It could be a habit, a fear, an old belief, hesitation, or simply something that no longer feels aligned.
On to Step 2Step 3
Put it into words
Turn your intention into one clear statement. Say what you are creating, not what you want to avoid.
Step 4
Give it a place
Hold your intention for a few seconds. Read it once.
Then place it somewhere you will naturally see it:
- Beside your diya
- On your desk
- Near your bedside
- Anywhere meaningful
An intention begins in the mind. A physical reminder gives you somewhere to return to it.
If you already have an object that is meaningful to you, you can place it alongside your intention. No object? That’s completely okay. Your written intention is enough.
On to Step 5Step 5
Take it forward
What is one thing I can do tomorrow that moves me towards this intention?
And that’s it. Your ritual is complete.
See your intentionThe diya will eventually go out. Your intention doesn’t have to.
Keep this somewhere you can return to it.
Your Diwali intention
- I’m leaving behind
- I choose
- My intention
- Tomorrow, I will
Happy Diwali.
May what you choose to invite find its way into your life — and may you find your way towards it too.
In Step 4, we said an object can sit beside your intention as a reminder. If you’d like one, a natural Rudraksha is a gift from Earth you can keep close. It’s entirely optional. Your written intention is enough.
